1. Governor Janet Mills says she supports CMP’s plan for a new transmission line that would run from Canada, through Maine, and into Massachusetts. She said in a press conference Thursday that the project is currently under review by the Public Utilities Commission, but says if approved, Maine would receive an incentives package to put money towards heat pumps for low income families, electric car charging stations, and more broadband access. 2. SCAM COMPLAINT INVOLVING FICTITIOUS POLICE ORGANIZATION: The Sanford Police Dept. has received calls from an individual claiming to be calling for the “National Police Support Fund.” This is a fake organization, do not donate money as they do not represent any agency. (Facebook/SanfordPD)

3. Three local hospitals, say they are dealing with a flu outbreak, and are asking some visitors to stay away. Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital, and Rumford Hospital are all affected. Officials at CMMC say all visitors must wear a mask and wash their hands. They say each unit has a kiosk outside with masks and sanitizer. According to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 14 people have died from the flu in Maine so far this season. (WGME)

4. The NBA has formally proposed changing the draft-eligible age requirement from 19 to 18 to the National Basketball Players Association. The timing of the formal proposal is allegedly not related to the knee injury suffered by Duke freshman and likely #1 overall draft pick Zion Williamson on Wednesday night. This is the first step in formal negotiations to lower the age limit by the 2022 draft. Both the NBA and NBPA will need to agree to any rule change. (ESPN)

5. Space Jam 2 is officially set for release on July 16, 2021. The LeBron James-led film is being produced by Black Panther filmmaker Ryan Coogler and directed by Terence Nance. The film marks James’ first starring role after appearing in the 2015 Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck. (Hollywood Reporter)
