1. President Donald Trump is getting ready to visit Manchester, New Hampshire today. It’s his first official visit there of the 2020 presidential election season. The President will be at the Southern New Hampshire University Arena, a 12,000-seat complex that Trump spokespeople say they expect to be full. The rally is expected to start at 7 p.m. with the President speaking shortly thereafter, and protests are planned outside, including one organized by supporters of former Vice President Joe Biden. 2. Today is the deadline for the city of Portland to have the asylum seekers out of the Portland Expo, which has been run as an emergency shelter for the last two months. The expo started with 132 asylum seekers and now there are less than 100. Any remaining asylum seekers will be moved out of the Expo and into the city family shelter or the gym at the Salvation Army. 3. The National Weather Service says an EF1 tornado touched down in Washington County on Monday. This is the first tornado in Maine in 2019. According to preliminary data collected by NWS, the tornado touched down around 5:40 p.m., hitting wind speeds of 90 mph. The maximum width of the tornado was 200 yards, and it had a path of about .25 miles. NWS says there were two concentrated areas of tornado damage with sporadic damage along Iron Bridge Road. Approximately 120 softwood trees were either uprooted or snapped. No one was injured. (WGME)
