(Music) Rap and R&B Roundup at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Yesterday was the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. The Billboard Music Awards celebrate the best in sales and popularity in the music industry. Many of Rap and R&B’s hottest artists were in attendance such as Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, iconic duo Salt-N-Pepa, and many more.

In Rap, Kendrick Lamar won Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, and Damn. won Top Rap Album and Billboard 200 Album. Cardi B understandably won Top Rap Female Artist due to her massive explosion across the music industry and rap scene.

In R&B, Bruno Mars unsurprisingly won Best Male R&B Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top R&B Song for “That’s What I Like,” and Top R&B Album for 24k Magic. SZA finally was recognized as the Best R&B Female Artist after being snubbed at the Grammys for her album Ctrl.

Salt-N-Pepa closed the awards with a medley of their greatest hits. Their performance marked the 30th anniversary of the popularity of their hit “Push It.” During their performance, En Vogue was called on stage to amp up another of Salt-N-Pepa’s hits, “Whatta Man.”
