Sad news for the hip-hop community today. Bushwick Bill, who was a member of the Houston rap trio Geto Boys, has died at the age of 52.

Last month he revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer back in February. Earlier on Sunday, there were rumors going around that the rapper died after a member of the rap group, Scarface, dedicated posts to the late singer, when he in fact did not die. His family and rep shut down the rumors but his rep later confirmed that he died at 9:35 Sunday night.

When Bill talked about his illness to TMZ, he said that he’s “not really afraid of dying” because he “…died and came back already in June 1991” so he knows what it’s like on the other side. This is referring to an incident where he accidentally shot himself in the eye during a fight with his girlfriend over a gun. (Variety)

The hip-hop community is definitely thinking about Bill and his loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace Bushwick Bill!
